Sheppard Fairey is an American street artist, who rose to prominence after the creation of his ‘Obey’ poster. In 2008, Fairey created a series of posters in support of Barack Obama’s presidential candidacy for President. This particular piece would go on to achieve great cultural significance: although Fairey was not officially affiliated with the Obama campaign, his poster has become synonymous with the former president.

Unlike the original this re-creation was used with free-hand, it was very important for the colours not to blend and to make sure the white stayed vibrant.
